I saw the bad reviews and I was worried about going in to Grote. I've got really bad credit and honestly I don't make a ton of cash. I thought I'd have to wait to get into a car. I was worried that I'd get tricked into coming in and waste my time. But the lady on the phone was so nice and reassured me that the worst that could happen was that I'd leave with information to help me get into a car later on. OK. I went in and they explained that they'd help me into a car that fit my budget. They did. It's not nothing fancy, but it's nice looking and I'm not worried about it breaking down on me! Thanks guys.

To start, when we checked the car out, it didn't have heat. Mind you, it was the middle of summer. The tire pressure light was also on, but I was told it would be fixed. So I pay for the car and sit there for like 3 hours before I even get to sign anything. My car was then in their shop for two or three days before I even got it. Had it for a day and the tire pressure light came back on. Then again and again. Come to find out, the tire had a nail in it the whole time. Flash forward a few weeks and the heat goes out again. Check engine light on again. Take it to them, and it's in the shop again for two days. Get a call and come in just to find out my heater core went out again. Told it's not covered under my warranty. I have only had the car two months and it's already got major issues. Havent even put 3 thousand miles on it yet. It's currently been in the shop for two weeks. For the same issue. Cost me over 1500 dollars to fix it and it is still in the shop. Buyers beware. Grote is a *** place to buy a car. I thought I could trust them. The whole interaction with them has made me feel like they really dont care for there customers.

I called in a vehicle they said it was there and then when I got there they said it had been sold but they had other vehicles for me to look at That is not what I came in. I think Fred Grote is a fake and hes trying to be a Bob Rohrman! Ridiculous!!

I just wanted to thank Grote for selling me a jeep without air conditioning it will make a great summer. Thanks again Note- I did say something to the I guess finance manager. He told me I am not going to build you a new vehicle. That being said I didnt bring it back up. So once thank you again thanks for no Air. Yours truly. Carol Burns

Went to Grote, went in immediately started paperwork for a loan, after they say I was approved they told me what vehicle I was approved for, granted it was one of the vehicles I looked at. Took the vehicle home they said they had fixed the tire, they didn't until I took it to a tire shop. Titling is taking forever and things on the truck didn't work when bought. Call them, they don't return calls. Went there all about titling got an attitude from finance manager. Suggestion to all go somewhere else. You will be better off.

Been hounded for a month to come check out the inventory and the whole time I've explained I have transportation issues and needed to do everything to be approved online and when I knew I would be driving a vehicle home I would find transportation to the lot. That is when Ashley informed me I had been approved since I filled out the online credit app and all I had to do is last few signatures and pick my vehicle out. Get my discount code and everything. Go to the ft Wayne store and 1 vehicle she said was in my budget was on the lot but noone could tell me where the other vehicles were, who Ashley was and why they had to re run my credit. All to be told I am not able to get approved. Sales manager Justin and his lap dog had poor knowledge of vehicles on the lot and would not answer me why this happened.

The salesman Jaden or he told me his name is Jay told me that my loan was approved all I needed was a paystub and they would not have to run another credit check when I got there so I drove an hour one-way took off a half a day at work and got there and J was gone another salesman said he could help me not sure what his name was I dont think he said his name he was on his phone the entire time I think he said with his father in law and then they ran my credit through three more banks where it was declined and they told me to try to go to Bastille or somewhere else nothing they could do for me

This automotive company will tell you they have the best financing, and even bad credit is approved and helped. Untrue. They run your credit throw a million finance companies. Then when they can't get you approved they have lowered your credit score even more.

I went down to Grote knowing my credit was bad but was offered one car. I told them i can only afford $300 month but they pushed me over and over to go with their $500 month car. They told me to make partial payments on the loan. We told them over and over we wanted out of the deal but all they car about is themselves-not the customer. My wife keeps having panic attacks over the deal. We traded in a car plus made a down payment which mo one told us was non refundable. No one went over our payments or anything. Turns out the $20,000 car is actually $43,000 and is 71 payments instead of 41. We are not submitting the rest of the paperwork. We can't afford this yet they beat me up for 4 hours until i signed one signature. They then copied and pasted that one signature all over the contract as if i had signed each line, but I didn't. They used shady tactics when figuring out my bills and had my wife sign online. She didn't even get to see the car before they were bullying us into it. They don't care about you. They just want to screw you over.

I was sold a car under false pretense. After signing contract then their mechanic put the vehicle thru the state required check points. I was told the car was in an accident with no air bags deploied. After reading the carfax report I find the car has frame damage. Grote has not done anything to exchange the car.

Was interested in a jeep they had on their lot at Cherry Vale Mall in Rockford, IL. Things went pretty smooth until they wanted my information and I said I wanted my mechanic to check it out before I committed. Things got heated after that, they flat out refused. I kept asking what are they trying to hide and they kept getting madder. Sadly, it was comically kind of funny how nervous and upset they got. So I just walked out.
