Verified ReviewerTelling people don't go there
They will tell you anything to get you in there. I have tried emailing the general manager, but no reply. I did go in and talk to Clifton but basically, because my credit score wasn't where it was supposed to be, I have to pay more. I understand, but the finance manager, or whoever he was, told me the wrong number twice regarding the payoff amount. He did not explain there would be 16.6% interest and $14,000 to borrow this money. This is insane. It's probably going to get to the point where I'm going to have to return the car and file bankruptcy. Even the letter I got from the general manager stated they were there to help get me into a car I can afford.
And can someone explain why your pushy salesman told me this is the only car I could get approved for? So, I can't get approved for something with a lower amount? I told them way before coming in that I really can't afford anything over $400 a month. I asked the salesman more than twice what other cheaper cars I could get. He said he would check but it seemed to me that all he was worried about was his commission.
They supposedly fixed the mileage issue that they had written down incorrectly on the paperwork. I'm supposed to trust their word? They seemed extremely anxious for me to change my review but after texting them with more questions and getting no reply to my emails, I'm changing it back.
Don't be like me and have to pay $14,000 in interest just to borrow money. They seem to care more about selling a vehicle than getting you something cheaper. All the salesman said was that the bank wouldn't like that. Yes, it was my mistake to sign the contract but had they explained the interest would be more, I probably wouldn't have done it.
I feel taken advantage of because of my bad credit and I knew I needed something but really can't afford all of this because I didn't know it was going to cost that much. I told them this more than once but the salesman didn't care. Guess he wanted the one that cost more.
So, don't be like me and most likely end up having to give it back. I don't know what I'm going to do. Don't trust what they tell you just to get you in there. I am very unhappy, and now I have a check engine warning light on.

Weird Salesman
My mom was looking for a new car so I went with her. Our sales guy was named Matthew Michael.
He was nice when we were there but since my mom is in bankruptcy she needs a letter of approval from her lawyer. He was really rude over text so we both stopped answering him. Next thing I know, he shows up at our front door this past Thursday (the 26th) at 930 in the morning.
He knocked, and it woke me up and when I went to look through the peephole he was facing the other direction and I couldn't tell who it was. When I opened the door, he turned and there he was.

To let people know not to fall for grody automotive scams
I had one in there cuz I had a car that got totaled on my way home from work long story short I needed to get a car and this was my first time buying off a lot for a brand new car not really brand new at all it was pre-owned but they lied about so much the lady kept screwing me around with the price she ended up charging me 14,000 I gave her a trade-in and also 1700 down mind you the car had only 72,000 miles on it but the car is only worth $16,000 brand new my point is they knew I was desperate and needed a car to get to work and they took full advantage of that they didn't even let me pick out my vehicle they will give you high interest rates I am paying 25% interest it's incredibly high it's incredibly outrageous and it's incredibly insulting they were burned holes in the feet that they covered up put a soft putty and fur to match the color of the seat naturally that rubbed off after about a month and now I'm realizing there's even worse damage on the left side I didn't notice they were pry bar marks on the bottom of the driver's door as you walk in I guess it's out of alignment when you open the back door without opening the front it'll snap against it and dent the car more and more each time they hid all that all the Nick and paint chips that are missing they put a little filler on it and it's gone within a month or after your first car wash under farther investigation I had five inquiries on my credit score that weren't even me if you want to pay high interest rates get screwed overAnd possibly risk your car not working after a month of having it I've met some people that that has happened to and they don't care once they get your signature it's no more nice talk it's do what I say or you're screwed I would suggest getting a car off Market place or find some other AD you're only going to end up regretting your decision going through with grody automotive lot of desperate people that they take advantage of these high interest rates and if you can't pay it they will take it back sell it againAt the same price that's why he's on every radio station and on TV he don't even work in the shop anymore you just sit around with a luxurious lifestyle knowing he is a line sack of *** along with everyone that works for him

Verified Reviewer | Fort Wayne, IndianaSell unfixed vehicles!
I bought a car on 12/12/23 2018 Nissan Pathfinder and traded in 2017 Kia sorento. My sorento was in better condition except the car is burning oil and every 3 weeks to top off.
I got the nissan home on 12/12 and everything was fine until two days after buying the car. I heard a knocking noise when I stopped and turned on different streets. At first thought dust in the breaks. I had scheduled the next day Nissan near me a inspection to make sure everything was fine.
But when I got the news that my drive belt/serptien belt was dried out and stretched out, the noise I heard was hub/bearing broke, the car needed a wheel alignment, in cabin microfiber filter needs to be replaced. It would cost 1,286.00 to fix all this. So I had the major problems fixed first, the belts, hub/ bearing which cost 1,012.01 to fix. Grote didnt believe that shock absorber/hub/bearings needed to be fixed cause the axels where fixed.
That they 2,500.00 fixes before they sold me the cold. But Obviously they didnt fix *** The engine is burning oil, and I traded a car that was burning oil.
The previous owner didnt do oil changes right and now there is slug. They sucker me into this car and new the condition it was in wanted it off the lot

Verified ReviewerScammed me and rushed me into something couldn’t afford
On December 12, 2023 I bought 2028 Nissan Pathfiner. Sales person didnt know anything about the car.
Asked if there was any issues on the car and was only told all our cars go through a certified inspection on the test drive. Got back and tried to work out numbers. But when we did he showed me this four squared paper that had the price of the vehicle and they raised the car price 1,565.000 over the asking price. Goes and tell me that they discount the car for me.
Than I asked how much am I getting for my trade and points to that square. Last I ask how much are my monthly payments pointed to that as well. I was thinking wow thats really good! Than get into finance office and my monthly payments was totally different.
They went up $600 more than what I was shown. But the finance manger was like we have this program were it will take money out every week at this price. I ask how much would it be semi monthly and it was half of my pay checks. So I go never mind, and did weekly at 200.00.
After everything was signed, and I drove the car home. The next day the car started having issues, and I heard a knocking noise coming from the front when I turned the car or started to slow down. I reported back to the dealership and they are like well you can bring it in after Christmas cause we are booked. But I knew this couldnt wait to than.
So I took it in to my local Nissan and they inspected it and the noise I was hearing was the hub/bearing. They Also found that cat had a recall that the previous owner was going to fix but never did and all three belts needed to be fixed. The car needs a wheel alignment. Everything cost me 1012.01 for 3 belts and hub/bearing.
They will not give me a cent back. I want to get rid of this car cause I can afford the payments and putting oil back into the engine.
If there is any other fixes that need to be fix. But Im literally stuck with it and saw me coming.

Verified Reviewer | Geneva, IllinoisScammers and fraud
I bought a 2018 Nissan pathfinder from Rockford IL location. I went up twice to see the car, and the first time had to leave to get to my second job.
Second day was in the build longer than 2hrs. Test drove the car, and sat down talk about numbers. Still didnt know the price of the car. When I sat down with salesman that didnt know anything about the car.
Showed me how much the car was going to be and how much had to put down. I told them that I dont have anything to put down plus my monthly payments think its going be low. Than salesman went back to his manger and came back ask if I had $0.07 than said yes. He took it and than came back to ask if I had $7.00 and Im like no.
But I just transferred money cause I needed to get gas in the car trade in my I get home. So I was like yes I have 7.00. Gave him my card and they processed my card. Im in the dealership for almost two hours now and waiting for them to write up the paperwork for me to sign.
Than get into the finance office and I saw my payments and said thats not what I agreed too. Im sitting in the office almost ready to walk away. Than the finance manger is like we have this program that will help you pay down your loan within 60months instead of 72months. Your weekly payments would be 214.00 and once again Im charge 215.00.
Than I asked what would it be twice a month, and it would be 430.00 and I was like thats half of my paychecks. So I went with weekly. As we went on and got to gap insurance and told the finance manger that didnt need it cause my car insurance helps if a total loss. Than he goes well two will be good and sliding the paperwork to sign for the gap insurance.
Tried telling again, but he didnt listen and goes go head sign at the bottom. Than got to warranty, and I had no was getting a warranty cause that wasnt explained before the office or in the office every well. Plus didnt even ask about a warranty and there was no option to decline. Plus the finance manger didnt want to go back into the computer and change if I declined.
Than after said and done, took the car home and also two days later hear knocking noise from the front of car. So I had inspection done by a Nissan dealership near me and they heard the same noise. Found out there is a recall, all three belts, and hub/bearing which they told me wheel bearing also wheel alignment . I fixed all the major issues first which costed $1,012.01.
Grote wanted me to come after Christmas for them to fix things and I know this couldnt wait. I have reported them to BBB, State attorney, federal trade commission

Verified Reviewer | Geneva, IllinoisMy new car need fix two days after purchasing it
I bought a car and I thought was getting great deal turn out horrible two days later. First day heard a noise in the front left, like knocking.
Thought maybe dust and pressing on it could help get it out. It kept happening when stopping and turning. So I had made appointment get the car inspected and found that it need $1,287.77 of fixes plus a open recall.
One fix is a cabin filter, the second wheel bearing, third drive belt, and last a wheel alignment. I could of been killed on my way home the day I bought the car.

I am a recently divorced mother with 2 special needs kids. I have spent the last 20 yrs caring for my oldest son whom has autism and is very far behind his peers.
I spoke to Ally in Elkhardt and she told me that I was 100% approved and it'd be $7 down- all I needed to do was bring my bank statement to prove the spousal support that I get. I drive an hour there and all of a sudden they want 1000s down. I had told them my situation and that I really was in a spot. They lied to get me there then tried to trap me.
The saleswoman was also rarely at her computer with me, she was running all over the place. They really screwed me over- ROYALLY!!!

Preferred solution: It'd be nice to get the 120 miles of gas back, but other than that- quit ripping people off and lying to them!

Verified ReviewerSold me a *** car
To start, when we checked the car out, it didn't have heat. Mind you, it was the middle of summer.
The tire pressure light was also on, but I was told it would be fixed. So I pay for the car and sit there for like 3 hours before I even get to sign anything. My car was then in their shop for two or three days before I even got it. Had it for a day and the tire pressure light came back on.
Then again and again. Come to find out, the tire had a nail in it the whole time. Flash forward a few weeks and the heat goes out again. Check engine light on again.
Take it to them, and it's in the shop again for two days. Get a call and come in just to find out my heater core went out again. Told it's not covered under my warranty. I have only had the car two months and it's already got major issues.
Havent even put 3 thousand miles on it yet. It's currently been in the shop for two weeks. For the same issue. Cost me over 1500 dollars to fix it and it is still in the shop.
Buyers beware. Grote is a *** place to buy a car.
I thought I could trust them. The whole interaction with them has made me feel like they really dont care for there customers.

I agree with this customer. I bought a car from them and I paid over msrp and have a high interest rate.
Since I had the car it’s been in a car shop more times could actually drive it. They also add things to your bill that you weren’t told about.
